Prof. BOZKURT BURAK ÖZHAN

B.Burak ÖZHAN is a Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Manisa Celal Bayar University, Manisa, Türkiye. Dr. Özhan was born in Ankara, Türkiye. Before enrolling in an engineering school, Dr. Özhan graduated from the Electrical Department of Mithatpaşa Technical High School in İzmir, Türkiye. He received his B.Sc. degree from Celal Bayar University Civil Engineering Department in Manisa, Türkiye, M.Sc. degree from Dokuz Eylül University Coastal Engineering Department in İzmir, Türkiye and Ph.D. degree from Celal Bayar University Mechanical Engineering Department. After earning a Ph.D., he studied as a post-doctoral scholar in a project supported by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK). Following the scholarship, Dr. Özhan became an assistant professor at Celal Bayar University’s Mechanical Engineering Department. He was granted by the Council of Higher Education of Türkiye (YÖK) an International Research Scholarship, and he became a visiting scholar at Texas A&M University Mechanical Engineering Department, Colege Station, Texas, USA. Later, Dr. Özhan was granted a Post Doctoral Research Scholarship by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK) and worked in the Advanced Computational Mechanics Laboratory (ACML) at Texas A&M University. During his post-doctoral studies, he went through the phase of publication and oral examination for the associate professorship. Dr. Özhan was promoted to associate professor and full professor by the Manisa Celal Bayar University. Dr. Özhan has completed the Academy for Future Faculty program in the Center for Teaching Excellence at Texas A&M University. Dr. Özhan was also selected as a fellow of the Teaching as Research project supported by the US National Science Foundation (NSF). His research areas include Mechanical Vibrations, Continuum Mechanics, Applied Mathematics, Fluid Mechanics, Biomechanics, and Engineering Philosophy.

Currently, he is the Head of the Mechanics Division of the Mechanical Engineering Department, gives undergraduate and graduate courses, and works on scientific projects/publications.
