Fetal goiter can be the result of maternal hyperthyroidism treated with antithyroid drugs. Polyhydramnios may be the presenting symptom and can be diagnosed prenatally by sonography. We report a case of fetal goiter diagnosed at 30 weeks of gestation and fetal hypothyroidism confirmed by cordocentesis. Intra-amniotic levothyroxine was administered. Onset of preterm labor could not be prevented. The risks and benefits of intrauterine treatment of fetal goitrous hypothyroidism are discussed. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
