Özet

Novels focus on national concerns more than any other genres of literature. Because it manifests the ideologies, ideas, way of life, points of views of a particular nation. Studying the novels of a nation will give precious information about the characteristics of a nation. Turkish novels are good sources to learn the historical facts as well as national point of view about the population exchange of Turks and Greeks. Turkish novelists seem to have discovered the subject of the population exchange of Turks and Greeks recently. Turkish authors have started to write novels on this issue relatively late compared to the Greek authors. Turkish novels have fallen back dealing with the population exchange of Turks and Greeks in contrast to Greek novels. Greek authors started to write about population exchange right after 1923, but Turkish authors started to write about the population exchange after 1990s
