Abstract

In this investigation, four new localities of Hemidactyltis turcicus were recorded in Anatolia. Prior to this study all localities of the species were recorded to the west side of Euphrates (Firat River), an important dispersal barrier for animals. This study represents the first record of this species from the East side. The other new localities were detected within previously known distribution area the west of the river. As a result of our research, the distribution of Hernidactylus turcicus has been extended. The specimens collected from both sides of the river were evaluated with respect to morphological and pholidolial characteristics.
