Protons are generally used to bombard the target matter to produce neutrons. The neutron yield from the high-energy proton interaction with the target nuclei depends on the materil type as well as its size for a given incident proton energy. Neutron yiald increases significantly for high-Z targets depending on proton energies. Simulation programs are used for the determination of the target. The purpose of this study is to determine neutron yield for different target materials (Be, Cu, Pb, Th) bombarded by proton beam with energies from 300 MeV up to 3.0 :GeV using FLUKA Monte Carlo simulation code. The data obtained may be used for estimations of the neutron yield from targets and structure materials in the case of using proton beams.
