Abstract

This study aims to determine whether meritocracy influences psychological capital and, if so, to reveal whether communicative rational action moderates this relationship. The sample group consists of managers of domestic and international companies. Data were analysed using the IBM SPSS 21 program. Multiple regression analysis and SPSS PROCESS v3.5 (Model 1) methods were used. Except for the value-rational-action, four sub-dimensions (rational action, practical-rational action, rational communication and firm family) are moderated in the relationship between meritocracy and psychological capital. In conclusion, meritocracy has a positive effect on psychological capital.
