As technology rapidly develops, software organizations face the challenge of adapting swiftly to changing customer requirements. Agile software development methodologies, such as Scrum, XP (Extreme Programming), Kanban, and Lean, offer flexibility and rapid response but may fall short in areas like documentation, planning, and standardization. At this point, the Capability Maturity Model Integration for Development (CMMI-Dev) v2.0 serves as a model that guides agile organizations in evaluating and improving their process capabilities to mature and enhance their software processes. This study examines how the Capability Maturity Model Integration for Development (CMMI-Dev) v2.0 can complement agile approaches by providing a framework for process improvement. Specifically, we analyze the integration of Scrum practices with CMMI-Dev 2.0 process areas, highlighting the advantages this hybrid model brings to managing and enhancing software processes. Our findings indicate that combining Scrum with CMMI-Dev 2.0 improves process maturity, product quality, and management efficiency, creating a balanced approach that aligns agile responsiveness with structured process improvement.
