Özet
Migration movements that have many causes and effects is as old as human
history. Migration is defined as changing of place. Migrations are mandatory or
voluntarily according to the causes of migration. Movements of migration can also
be classified as internal migration and international migration into two groups.
Migration movements' causes, effects and consequences are diffirent from each
other.
Due to a multidimensional phenomenon, internal migration has emerged in
the light of social, economic, political and cultural reasons. Because of these
reasons, immigrants face new challenges. These are poverty, urban poverty,
squating, individuals not able to find a job in labor market where they migrate and
turning towards informal employment and social exclusion which is the main
theme of this study.
The concept of social exclusion has been the subject of quite a high number
and different identification efforts by scientists. Walker A. and Walker C. define
social exclusion as a dynamic process that determines individuals' socialization and
excludes them from social, economic, political and cultural system partially or
completely. Similarly, Oppenheim expresses social exclusion as an alienation and
exclusion including informal support network from social, economic, political and
cultural life (Oppenheim 1998 posted by Coşkun and Tireli, 2008: 42).
Besides social exclusion as we stated as both cause and consequence to internal
migration; the discussion of poverty, social, economic and political issues has an
importance in the terms of prosperity of our country. Because of not been
addressing the size of the exclusion of native citizens who migrated from counties
and villages besides immigrants Manisa where is one of the agricultural and
industrial cities in the Aegean Region from Eastern Anatolia Region and
Southeastern Anatolia Region, Manisa has been chosen for fieldwork movements that have many causes and effects is as old as human
