Abstract

A new species of the genus Leptobium Casey (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Paederinae) from Israel is described, illustrated, and distinguished from congeners: Leptobium korotyaevi sp. n. (Tel-Aviv, Shoham). New and additional distribution data for eight species in the Middle East and adjacent regions are reported. A checklist and identification key of Leptobium of Israel is provided. The genus is now represented in Israel by seven species. http://www.zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:pub:0A16F6D4-515F-4B9A-B740-410B4194EDD5.
