is facing an increasing complexity as customers’ demands are growing especially
for fast, reliable and flexible services. Implementation of IT systems for
improved communication and information with both sides; suppliers and customers
can help to achieve that. The Cloud Computing technology is widely recognized
as an important technology as it offers significant advantages for data,
process and service management and integration but relatively few organizations
today actively embrace it yet as there are concerns about mainly its security
and privacy. This paper introduces the conceptual basics of Cloud Computing and
the results of a survey carried out to understand recognition and usage level of
cloud computing technology in logistic companies in İzmir/Turkey are presented.
