Blockchain in Healthcare Today, cilt.8, sa.3, ss.1-24, 2025 (Scopus)
The rapid evolution of digital health technologies has introduced blockchain as an important innovation in transforming healthcare systems. This study explores the role of blockchain in driving digital health transformation and evaluates future-oriented approaches that integrate emerging technologies. This paper identifies six critical areas where blockchain technology intersects with digital health innovation by systematically analyzing literature from the Web of Science and comparing topic hierarchies with results from Google Scholar. Genomics and precision medicine, telemedicine and mobile health, immersive technologies such as augmented and virtual reality, the Internet of Things and Health 5.0 environments, artificial intelligence and big data integration, and global and regional health challenges are analyzed in the study. The findings demonstrate that blockchain is a critical and growing technology for data security, cross-border collaboration, interoperability, data integrity in medical devices, and transparency within the healthcare system, contributing to a decentralized healthcare system. This indicates that it is a key technology for the delivery of global healthcare services. This research is expected to serve as a comprehensive resource for professionals, researchers, and policymakers seeking to understand the present and future of blockchain-based digital health solutions and implement them in the healthcare sector.
