The poulation exchange of Turks and Greeks is a multi dimentional, complex issue. This population exchange has a distinctive place in the world’s history, and has been a reference to different population exchange programs afterwards. Aproximatelly two million people change their places in a short time period and according to the treatry between the states, it is mandated that returning back homeland is impossible. There have been novels among the Tukish novels which refers to the population exchange or there have been novels which has imigrant characters, but until 1990’s there was almost no novel focussing on the population exchange issue as a main theme. After 1990’s this issue has gained increasing popularity among the Turkish novelists. This study researches how the population exchange of Turks and Greeks is dealt in Turkish novel.
