Abstract

Linear transverse vibrations of an Euler-Bernoulli beam are considered. The beam carries masses and is simply supported at both ends. The equations of motion are obtained and solved. Linear frequency equations are obtained. Natural frequencies are calculated for different number of masses, mass ratios, and mass locations.
