Abstract

The establishment of Sinirli Village, which is 17 kilometers from Turgutlu district of Manisa, dates back to the time of Saruhanoglu Principality. Sinirli Village Mosque was built in 1875 in Turgutlu district of Manisa, during the reign of the Ottoman Empire. The murals appear on the wall surfaces, capitals, eaves in almost all sections of the building, including the portico courtyard, prayer place and women's section. The paintings mainly include depictions of flowers with or without vases, and less often we see illustrations of buildings that could be considered within two categories; civil structures and religious architecture. These depictions display vivid details of the architecture illustrated. Within the scope of this paper, the aim is to assess the current state of these depictions in the Mosque, which had not been subjected to an extensive study before. The analysis, then, will be expanded to include a comparison of these illustrations with similar cases from the period.
