In this study, flotation tests on samples obtained from Tunçbilek Coal Preparation Plant were done firstly, using an oily collector and frother. Afterwards, block co-polymers were used in addition to collector and frother to improve floatability of coal selectively. Three different polymers, pluronic L-64, P-104 and 10R-8, were tested in lignite flotation in this study. At the end of the study, lignite was floated with 67,19% combustible matter recoveries and 17,65% ash content in 4 minutes flotation without polymers. 73,25% combustible matter recoveries were obtained with L-64 polymer addition; while it is determined that flotation recoveries were not improved with P-104 polymer addition. Although about 80% combustible matter recovery values were attained with 10R-8 polymer, ash contents of clean coal products were also increased.
